Who is Dave?
I was born and raised in Torrey, UT, to a family of tradesmen. Some worked a saw mill while others herded sheep or logged off of Boulder Mountain.
Growing up in SLC, I would often work with my father on building projects and as I got older, I found that I had a talent and a love for working with wood.
I earned a college degree in Building and went on to a successful 30 year career in commercial building with several companies. Not only do I have a love for wood, wood working, and milling, I also have a love for restoration.
Some of my past restoration projects as a Site Superintendant include the old Fort Douglas Hospital at the U of U campus, and the Kearns-St Ann Catholic School. Seeing an older building become retro-fitted and shiny/new is both pleasing and gratifying. This is what has led me to Dave’s Professional Home & Building Repair. I enjoy helping people upgrade, restore, renew their homes that may be older and I am more than happy to have the owner work with me side by side so that they understand and have a chance to get their hands dirty, too.
Porch extensions, porch covers, decks and covered decks are some of my favorite projects and I have completed some that include the installation of a hot tub. Kitchen and bathroom remodels seem to be a popular project for folks here locally, as well.
